Kyocafe Chacha Launches Kyoto Waffle Series with Cherry Blossoms and Strawberries

Kyocafe Chacha, a waffle specialty store operated by Japan Resort Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture), is set to launch their new line of Kyoto Waffles on April 1st, 2023 (Saturday). The waffles feature a rich milk tea aroma infused with cherry blossoms and strawberries, and come in two flavors: Hana Yaka Sakura Milk Tea and Maroyaka Ichigo Milk Tea. The dough is kneaded with plenty of Earl Grey tea leaves and topped with pickled cherry blossoms and dried strawberries, making it a perfect treat for spring outings such as cherry blossom viewing and picnics, or as a gift for someone starting a new life.

The Kyoto Waffle Series will be available for purchase at Kyocafe Chacha Arashiyama store, Kyocafe Chacha Sanjo store, and the Kyocafe Chacha official online shop.

The popular Lunch Pack product by Yamazaki Bakery has collaborated with the Hikone Castle, a national treasure, to offer a limited-time "Red Curry with Three Fruits and Five Vegetables" until the end of May at convenience stores and supermarkets in the Kinki region. The curry is named after the "Akabimono" (red attire) of the Ii family, the lord of the Hikone Castle, who had a territory of 350,000 koku and fought with armor that was unified in red. The curry contains three types of fruits (apples, bananas, and mangoes) and five types of vegetables (potatoes, carrots, onions, etc.) and is wrapped inside the Lunch Pack.

Suntory to release "-196°C Flash Frozen Unsweetened Shikuwasa" for a limited time

Suntory will be releasing the "-196°C Flash Frozen Unsweetened Shikuwasa" for a limited time starting May 30th. With an alcohol content of 6%, the 350mL can will be priced at around 148 yen and the 500mL can at around 200 yen (excluding tax). "-196°C" is a long-selling brand that has been on the market since 2005. It is a non-sweet chu-hi with a robust fruit flavor, made by instantly freezing and grinding whole fruits. For this product, Suntory uses its proprietary "-196°C freezing method" to immerse Shikuwasa that has been flash-frozen and ground at -196°C in vodka, to extract the flavors trapped in the fruit peel. The "-196°C freezing method" has been further evolved to provide a firm fruit texture without the sweetness.
