Asahi Beer Co., Ltd. has acquired the domestic sales rights for the Scotch whiskey "Cutty Sark" owned by French spirits and liquor manufacturing and sales company La Martiniquaise. Sales will begin on April 1. "Cutty Sark" is a Scotch whiskey that was first released in 1923 and will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2023. The brand name "Cutty Sark" comes from the British clipper ship of the same name. The flagship product, "Cutty Sark Original," has a light taste characterized by herbal and vanilla scents and a refreshing fruity aftertaste.
By starting to handle "Cutty Sark," Asahi aims to strengthen its portfolio of Scotch whiskeys and respond to the increasingly diverse consumer needs, with the aim of further activating the whiskey market and pursuing customer satisfaction by creating "deliciousness that exceeds expectations and a fun culture of life."
