Echigo Beer will release a limited-time craft beer, "Citrus Strata IPA," starting on April 21. The beer features two types of hops with a floral aroma and has a taste that is easy to drink even for beginners.

The style of the beer is called "Session IPA," which has become popular in recent years, as it is less bitter and has a lower alcohol content than the strong bitter taste of India Pale Ale (IPA). The hops used in this beer are both American-grown, with "Citrus" providing a citrus-like aroma and "Strata" a tropical flavor.

While hops are typically added during the boiling process of the wort before fermentation to extract bitterness, in this case, dry hopping was done twice after fermentation to enhance the aroma of the hops while suppressing the bitterness.

The package design features two tigers running through a hop field to represent the refreshing feeling of the beer and is named after the hops used in the beer, "Citrus" and "Strata." Echigo Beer aims to offer a beer that is easy to pick up and enjoy for women and craft beer beginners.

With an alcohol content of 6%, the 350mL can will be priced at around 148 yen and the 500mL can at around 200 yen (excluding tax). "-196°C" is a long-selling brand that has been on the market since 2005. It is a non-sweet chu-hi with a robust fruit flavor, made by instantly freezing and grinding whole fruits. For this product, Suntory uses its proprietary "-196°C freezing method" to immerse Shikuwasa that has been flash-frozen and ground at -196°C in vodka, to extract the flavors trapped in the fruit peel. The "-196°C freezing method" has been further evolved to provide a firm fruit texture without the sweetness.
