Toyota's "HiLux" appears in Happy Set!

On April 14th, 2023, Toyota announced that their pickup truck "HiLux" will be included in the lineup of the first series of McDonald's "Happy Set Tomica" and will be available for a limited time from the same day until April 27th.


Every year, McDonald's sells a children's menu called "Happy Set" that includes Tomica, and it has been a popular topic among car enthusiasts, with Toyota's "GR Supra" in 2020, Nissan's "GT-R NISMO" in 2021, and Toyota's "GR86" and Nissan's "Fairlady Z" in 2022 appearing.


The HiLux debuted in 1968 with its first model and has a long history spanning over 50 years. It is a global model of a pickup truck that is sold in about 180 countries and regions.


The current model, which was released in September 2017, is the only pickup truck available in the domestic market and has received support from various users, from business users to young people, and has established its unique position.


The HiLux adopted for the Happy Set Tomica this time is the McDonald's original version. The hood, side body, and roof have stickers with McDonald's logo and red and yellow lines that suggest the company's image.


In addition, this model is equipped with suspension and the wheels rotate. Therefore, the tailgate of the bed is also openable and can be played with by rolling it with hands. The tailgate of the HiLux, which is a characteristic of the vehicle, is also openable.
