Broihaus Onuma Brewery to release "Kankoma Craft Beer" in barley wine style

Broihaus Onuma Brewery, known for its brand of Onuma Beer in Nanai-cho, will release a craft beer in the "barley wine" style called "Kankoma Craft Beer" on April 1. Barley wine is a high-alcohol beer that uses a large amount of barley and is aged for a long time, with a characteristic fragrance and a rich and aromatic flavor. It is common to age it further at home, similar to wine. Kankoma Craft Beer is inspired by the cherry blossoms that bloom in the Komagatake area, using dried cherry blossom leaves as a powder for fragrance. It is 10% alcohol and aged for about four months before shipping. Its features include a "flavor of malt and a strong bitterness" with a hint of cherry blossom mochi. The label, reminiscent of wine, was designed by a designer living in Nanai-cho.
